The Lady Cannoneers Lose Tough One in Double Overtime

On Wednesday the Lady Cannoneers lost a tough one at home in double overtime to North Country Community College.  Jefferson was up 3-0 at halftime with goals from Paige Hamilton, Elena Sanchez, and Mazzy Watson.  The second half the Lady Saints came out scoring 2 back to back goals, then Alexandra Greene scored for JCC making the score 4-2.  North Country answered yet again with 2 more goals tying the game up with 17 minutes left to go in the second half.  The Lady Saints weren't done as they scored yet another goal a couple minutes later, taking the 5-4 lead.  Sophomore Paige Hamilton wouldn't be denied as she came down and scored another goal to tie the game sending them into overtime.  Once again both teams battled, but in the second overtime North Country came out on top scoring a goal, defeating Jefferson 6-5.  Mikenna Merry had 6 saves in goal for JCC.

The Lady Cannoneers will travel to SUNY Adirondack tomorrow, game time is set for 12:30 pm.
