#7 Alexis Cruz (Team Captain) – Opposite Hitter
Alexis is majoring in Physical Education and looking to receive her Associates Degree this spring. She would then like to transfer to a 4 year college to continue playing volleyball and pursue a Physical Education Degree. Her career stats to date are 248 kills, 255 digs, 73 service aces, 31 assist, and 11 blocks. All coaches couldn't be more proud of you and all that you've accomplished these years past! You've had it in you all along, but you have finally harnessed your true potential and improved your mindset this season to accomplish big goals. It has been an absolute joy watching you grow to believe in yourself, surprise yourself, and find more confidence both on and off the court. You went from a quiet, hesitant noodle at IR to a literal tactile missile who can pass dimes and lead the charge for battle. Your transformation has been SO much fun to be a part of and we are prouder than ever of the smart, strategic and positive young woman you've become. The court monster will have to find a new victim next year and we will miss your silly faces and heart attack serves!
#11 Sarah Kilburn – Middle Blocker
Sarah is majoring in Psychology and looking to receive her Associates Degree this spring, she would then like to transfer to a 4 year college to continue playing volleyball and pursue a Psychology Degree. Her stats this season so far are 82 kills, 80 digs, 33 blocks (13th rank in NJCAA D3) 32 service aces, and 5 assists. What a pleasant surprise you turned out to be! It's been so much fun seeing you and Bayleigh pick up where you left off in high school playing together at Watertown, and also to see the new bonds you've created with the rest of the team. We're super proud of how well you've done on your return to the volleyball court! From those crazy blocks to passing dimes, serving up aces and that killer swing, you've been a wonderful addition to the Big Dawg Family. Thank you for being vulnerable with a new team, a wonderful teammate and for giving max effort all the time. We've loved having you on the court and seeing you grow so much emotionally and skillfully in just a few months. We'll miss those go-go-gadget arms, your unwavering competitiveness and seeing you surprise yourself.
#13 Emma Roy – Defensive Specialist
Emma is majoring in Applied Business Studies and looking to receive her Associates Degree this spring, she would then like to transfer to a 4 year college and pursue a Business Degree. Her stats this season so far are 23 digs and 7 service aces. She is the team's focuser! We are always surprised at how you seem to know just what to say and when to say it. You've been committed to this team since day one and seeing you be vulnerable and open up to everyone has been wonderful to watch! Almost as wonderful as seeing you pass nails, make impossible saves, and serve absolute bombs. Thank you for all of the giggles, the great mental toughness analysis, and for giving it your all every single day. You've grown so much mentally and as an athlete already this season. We are so proud of you, Emma! We're going to miss your infectious laugh, intelligent insights and never-say-die attitude!
#14 Bayleigh Woodard (Team Captain) – Setter
Bayleigh is majoring in Physical Education and looking to receive her Associates Degree this winter, she would then like to transfer to a 4 year college to continue playing volleyball and Track and Field at SUNY Cortland to pursue a Physical Education Degree. Her career stats to date are 715 assists, 290 digs, 37 service aces, and 16 kills. It's been a blast watching you chase down the impossible and seeing those skills improve is always great to watch as a coach but our favorite part of your time here at JCC has been witnessing you grow emotionally and mentally, becoming a true leader. You've always been a great, upbeat teammate and a fierce competitor, but you've grown even better at both over the last few years. Great job putting in all the extra work, staying committed to both your goals and your team, and not letting anything shake you. We are so proud of the intelligent, tactical and driven young woman you've become!! We will miss your silly faces, voices and dances next year!
#16 Chelsea Greenwood – Middle Blocker
Chelsea is majoring in Childhood Education and looking to receive her Associates Degree this spring, she would then like to transfer to a 4 year college to continue playing volleyball and pursue a Childhood Education Degree. Her career stats to date are 251 kills, 112 digs, 52 block (this season 13th rank in NJCAA D3) 27 service aces, and 4 assist. The kindest and most empathic one on the team can also be the most cutthroat competitor. It has been so much fun seeing you flip that switch every time you walk on the court these last couple of years. You've become a tactile, strategic and dynamic athlete during your time here but we are most impressed with how much you've grown mentally. Your new confidence and self-assurance are SO wonderful to see and the goals you've achieved as a result have been just as much fun to witness. You may be a natural introvert, but your willingness to be vulnerable, ability to stay rock-steady under pressure, and courage to be loud for your team has transformed you into an unspoken leader. Thank you for your humble nature, max effort, adaptability and trust. We couldn't be more proud of you, Chels! We will miss your battle cry, your clutch plays, and your love for the game.
