Bio
Matt Gorman enters his third season as Assistant Coach for the Jefferson Community College (JCC) women’s basketball program, bringing over a decade of experience in collegiate and professional basketball. Before joining the women’s staff, Gorman spent six seasons as an assistant coach with the Jefferson men’s basketball team, helping guide multiple postseason runs and player development initiatives.
In addition to coaching, Gorman serves as JCC’s Director of Student Life, where he oversees campus programming, student engagement, and leadership development—creating a well-rounded experience for student-athletes both on and off the court.
A graduate of Syracuse University, Gorman was a member of the 2003 NCAA National Championship team under Hall of Fame Coach Jim Boeheim. He played alongside stars like Carmelo Anthony and Gerry McNamara and appeared in 75 games during his college career. Following graduation, Gorman played five seasons of professional basketball in Europe and the United States, earning British Basketball League All-Star honors with the Sheffield Sharks and averaging 24 points and 12 rebounds with Neptune Cork in Ireland.
A Watertown native and former Watertown High School standout, Gorman takes pride in giving back to the North Country community through mentorship, leadership, and a strong commitment to student success.
