Jefferson Women Knock Off #5 North Country

On Sunday, the Cannoneer women's basketball team put together a great game to beat Region 3 opponent, North Country Community College. The team was led in scoring by Torie Moore, who tallied 23 points for the team. Emily Farrand and DaeLynn Alcock each tabbed 13 points of their own, and Kalyna Bryant chipped in with 12 points. The team was led in assists by Emily Farrand, who contributed 7 for the team. DaeLynn Alcock and Emily Farrand pulled down 14 and 12 rebounds respectively to help the team win the battle of the boards.

"I am really pleased with our effort in the game against North Country. We faced adversity with numbers and injuries through the game, and the athletes adjusted well to overcome them" Said head coach Tim Lamay. I am really proud of our women for stepping up and into a big game with toughness on the glass and the way we finished around the rim" Lamay added.

The team will continue MSAC Conference and Region 3 play this week as they look forward to a busy schedule of games in the next few weeks.
