Jefferson Women's Basketball players honored in Sophomore Day
Jefferson Women's Basketball sophomores Hannah Malbouf, Haile Bouchey, and Jessica Harris were recognized on Sunday, in their last home game of the season. The Lady Cannoneers came away with an 87-37 win over the visiting Finger Lakes Lady Lakers. Jessica Harris led all scorers with 16 points.
#23 Hannah Malbouf
Hannah is one of the most dedicated and committed players that I have ever coached. She has a constant hunger to learn more about and perfect her craft in basketball. She is always asking for ways to improve and requesting time to watch and review film with me. Over this season, I have watched her not only develop and grow as a basketball player, but as a leader. She has stepped out of her shell and contributed to our program in countless ways on and off the court. She will surely be missed in the seasons to come.
#25 Haile Bouchey
I have always admired people that wear their heart on their sleeve. Haile is one of those people. She laughs louder and cries harder than anyone in our program, and always knows how to make us all smile. Her skills on the court have blossomed beautifully throughout the course of the season. Haile's unconditional support for her teammates and our basketball program is something that will always set the bar for what a great teammate should be in the Cannoneer Women's Basketball program. We will truly miss the heart and support that she has brought to this team.
#24 Jessica Harris
Jess is the only member of our team with two years of college basketball playing experience, and in so many ways, it has shown. Right from the start of the season, she emerged as a leader in our program. Her willingness to continuously put the team before herself is greatly inspiring. The level of preparation that Jess puts into any game, whether it is watching game film, studying scouting reports, memorizing opponent stats, and/or preparing her own skills accordingly, has set an example for everyone to learn what it takes to win. Her drive and commitment to the game and our team will leave a legacy that will not soon be forgotten
