Jefferson follows up their Niagara series with 2 more home games against the Erie Kats. The offense was rolling early as Jefferson put up an 8 spot in the second inning. 9 Jefferson hitters recorded a hit in the game, and 6 hitters drove in runs. Brooke Beleza and Torie Moore both tallied 2 RBIs and Kiannah Ward was 3-3 with a double, triple and 3 runs scored. Emily Birmingham pitched a 5-inning complete game shutout striking out 9 and allowing just 3 hits. The Cannoneers win game 1 12-0 in 5 innings.
Game 2 was a battle as the Cannoneers trailed 2-1 entering the 5th inning. Rachael Shackleton intelligently drove in a run to tie the game in the 5th with smart baserunning sacrificing herself for a run. KJ Belmore had a clutch 2 out, 2 run single to give the Cannoneers a 4-2 lead in the 6th. Brooke Beleza added another insurance run in the 7th with a 2 out RBI triple. Rachael Shackelton started the game in the circle and pitched 4.2 innings and allowed just 2 earned runs striking out 5. Emily Birmingham came in relief, working out of a huge jam in the 5th. Birmingham pitched 2.1 innings and struck out 6 whilst picking up the win in relief. The Cannoneers would win a tough battle in game 2, 5-2.
