Game 2
Monroe Community College
Jefferson travels to Monroe Community College for a big doubleheader series against the Tribunes. The Cannoneers' could not get anything going at the plate in game 1, as a single in the 4th inning off the bat of Rachael Shackleton would be the lone tally in the box score. Shackleton did the job in the circle, however, pitching a complete game surrendering just 3 earned runs (4 runs total) and striking out 10 Tribune batters. The Cannoneers could not overcome to offensive struggles and drop game 1, 4-0.
Game 2 was a different story as Jefferson flipped a switch and tacked on 14 hits in the effort. Jadyn Childers was 3-3 scoring twice, and Torie Moore was 2-4 with 2 RBIs, including a huge late game RBI triple for much needed insurance runs. Brooke Beleza, Hailey McGrew, and Rachael Shackleton also tallied two hits on the game. Emily Birmingham continued her dominant stretch of pitching throwing a complete game and allowing just 2 runs - 1 earned. Birmingham also struck out 9 hitters in the winning effort. The Cannoneers rally back from a tough game 1 loss for a huge game 2 win 6-2 to split the series with Monroe.
