Jefferson headed to Niagara to face off in a best of 3 NJCAA Region III Regional matchup on the road last Saturday. Game 1 was led by Rachael Shackleton in the circle as she pitched 5.2 innings, allowing just 1 earned run. Unfortunately for the Cannoneers , the bats were quiet as Kaylee Johnson recorded the lone hit in the game. Niagara wins game 1, 8-0.
Game 2 saw Brianna Grant come into the game in a relief appearance and throw a solid 5.2 innings. The offense was not enough once again as Jefferson could only plate 3 runs in game 2. RBIs by Rachael Shackleton, Marissa Valvo, and Torie Moore pulled the Cannoneers within 2 but the Niagara bats were too much. Game 2 saw Niagara win 10-3.
