On Saturday April 24 the Lady Cannoneers Softball team traveled to Herkimer to take on the number 2 ranked NJCAA Division III Herkimer Generals. After two scoreless frames the Generals would take the lead in the bottom of the 3rd inning scoring 2 runs vs SUNY Jefferson starting pitcher Sarah Johnson. The Lady Cannoneers offense was held in check by Herkimer starter Madison Ihnat and Herkimer would score one more run in the 4th inning and 5 runs in the 5th inning to win the game 8-0 on a walk of homerun by Kayla Young. The Cannoneers had only four hits in the game, one of which was a double by Logan Kirchoff.
In game 2 the Generals would put up a 2 spot in the top of the first inning vs Cannoneer starting pitcher Georgia Barton. SUNY Jefferson would answer with 1 run in the bottom of the 1st on a solo homerun by Isabella Soluri. Herkimer would plate 8 more runs over the next four innings and SUNY Jefferson was unable to respond losing the night cap by a score of 10-1. Marissa Valvo was 2-2 in game 2 for the Cannoneers. The two losses even the Cannoneers record at 10-10.
