April 5, 2021
On April 3, 2021 SUNY Jefferson softball traveled to Auburn to take on the Cayuga Community College Spartans in a doubleheader at Falcon Park. SUNY Jefferson would open the scoring in the top of the first inning by plating 6 runs on 6 hits. Another run in the top of the 3rd inning and 6 additional runs in the top of the 4th would be more than enough to offset the 2 runs the Spartans scored in the ball game, in the Cannoneers 13-2 victory. Sarah Johnson went the distance in the circle allowing 7 hits and striking out 3 to earn the win and even her record at 2-2. Offensively the Cannoneers were led by Leah Briones and Emily Beck who each went 3 for 3 in the game with 2 of Beck's hits being doubles. Isabella Soluri drove in 3 runs on 2 hits.
In game 2 the Spartans would take the lead in the bottom of the 1st by scoring 2 runs against Cannoneer's starter Georgia Barton. Barton would settle down after the first inning and keep the Cayuga bats in check and the Cannoneers would score 11 unanswered runs to close out the game, to win by the score of 11-2. Barton allowed only 4 hits in her 6 innings of work to improve her record 3-1. The Cannoneer's offense pounded out 13 hits for the second straight game, led by Riley Dowlearn's 3 for 3 performance with a double, 3 runs scored, and 2 runs batted in and Logan Kirchoff's 3 for 4 game with a double and 3 runs scored.
