The Cannoneers traveled to Tompkins-Cortland Community College on Tuesday night to face the Panthers in a Mid State Athletic Conference game and came away with a much needed 97-85 win. Not only was it the Cannoneers first win of the season, but also an important conference win for the team. It was a great team effort and some of the best basketball the Cannoneers have played on both ends of the court.
Leading the way for the Cannoneers was Tymire Riddick with a huge game and he finished with 38 points. He was 14-14 from the free throw line and the Cannoneers, as a team, made 33 free throws to help secure the win. Also contributing to the cause was Jatique Jenkins-Fredericks with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Jerry Willis added 13 points and 9 assists, as well as Liam Bonk chipping in 12 points in a balanced Cannoneer attack. Next up for the Cannoneers is perennial Region III power Herkimer on Thursday night at home.
