Cannoneers Lose Tough Game to Vikings
The Jefferson Men's Basketball team split on the road this past weekend.
The Cannoneers played their fourth consecutive game on the road against Hudson Valley Friday evening and fell short by the score of 92-86. It was a close game throughout with one scoring run by the Vikings in the second half causing the Cannoneers to play catch up for the rest of the game and falling short as the buzzer sounded. Leading the way for the Cannoneers were Javon Hunter with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists, Deshawn Cann with 20 points and 10 rebounds and Latrelle Lee with 14 points and 5 rebounds, Christian Rohlehr also added 7 points, 7 rebounds and 6 blocked shots.
On Saturday the Cannoneers traveled to Adirondack CC and gained a much deserved 96-89 victory over the Timberwolves. It was a game that saw 75 free throws attempted by bioth teams and the Cannoneers making good on 81% to gain the victory. Leading the way for the Cannoneers was Javon Hunter with 20 points and 5 assists, TJ jones with 15 ponts and 7 rebounds, Derick Simpson with 14 points, Latrelle Lee with 14 points and 6 rebounds, Karaan Newsome with 13 points and 5 steals and Christian Rohlehr with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 6 blocks. It was a balanced team effort and a good win on the road.
