eSports Results for the Week of October 14th-October 17th
eSports had another busy week in the lab!
On October 14th, the Fortnite squad had a tough start with a 2-1 loss against North Central Missouri but quickly rebounded with a 2-1 victory over Central Wyoming. Carson Chambers and Trevor McIntyre led the charge, bouncing back after dropping the first game to take maps 2 and 3 for the win. They followed this up with a commanding 2-0 sweep against Heartland, where Ian Jarrard and Andrew Pierce continued their dominant run. On October 15th, the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (SSBU) team secured two decisive 4-1 victories, first against State Technical College of Missouri and then against Northwest. Dan Peguerra and Jack Rattray showcased their strong form, extending their undefeated streak to start the season. October 16th saw the Overwatch team fall 3-1 to Montgomery College in a closely contested match. Despite the loss, the Cannoneers put up a strong fight, with map 2 going into overtime in a thrilling 6-5 victory. Cole Johnson shone in the tank position, and Will Schroeder provided excellent support, giving the team plenty to build on for future matches. On October 17th, the Mario Kart team had mixed results. Tanner Gordon Snyder achieved his first win of the season with a 4-1 victory over State Fair, displaying a dominant performance. However, the team later suffered a 4-0 loss to Marshaltown. Additionally, the Valorant squad faced a tough challenge, losing 2-0 to Montgomery. Despite the setbacks, the Cannoneers continue to show resilience and potential across all games.
