Cannoneers Advance! Jefferson Hockey Wins First Round of AAU National Championship
Jefferson Advances in the National Tournament
The Jefferson Cannoneers opened the AAU National Championship Tournament in impressive fashion, defeating Stevenson University by a score of 4–1 in the first round.
Jefferson's offense was powered by a pair of standout performances. Freshman Dylan Johnson and sophomore Owen Bismarck each found the back of the net twice, accounting for all four Cannoneers goals and giving Jefferson control throughout the contest.
In net, goaltender Avery Zenger delivered a stellar performance, turning aside 39 shots to preserve the victory. Zenger's steady play between the pipes helped the Cannoneers weather Stevenson's offensive pressure and secure their spot in the next round.
With a balanced offensive attack and strong goaltending, the Cannoneers move on in the tournament with momentum as they continue their pursuit of a national title. Today they will take on Fairfield University.
