Cannoneers Complete Stunning Playoff Comeback in Overtime Thriller
Jefferson Hockey Wins First Round in Overtime.
Jefferson Community College authored a stunning postseason comeback at Northwest Arena in Jamestown, rallying from a two‑goal deficit to defeat Le Moyne College 4–3 in overtime during the UNYCHL Playoffs. The Cannoneers trailed 3–1 entering the third period before storming back to force overtime and ultimately secure the win on a power‑play strike.
Le Moyne controlled the opening frame. Patrick Kenney broke through at 17:40 off a setup from Connor Boland, and Laughlin O'Donnell doubled the lead nine minutes later, finishing a feed from Charles Gaetano for a 2–0 advantage. Jefferson finally broke through before intermission when Tanner Esposito converted at 5:54, assisted by Connor Lamb and Colin Whitmore.
The Dolphins regained momentum in the second. Gaetano cashed in on a power play at 15:56, restoring a two‑goal cushion and sending Le Moyne into the third up 3–1.
That's when Jefferson flipped the script.
Midway through the final period, Mason Savage buried a feed from Owen Bismarck to make it 3–2. With pressure mounting, the Cannoneers found the equalizer at 3:32 when Bismarck struck off assists from Savage and Carson Barrett, sending the game to overtime.
In the extra session, Jefferson completed the rally. With the Cannoneers on a power play, Mason Jeeves redirected home the winner at 3:22 off passes from Cameron Winebar and Owen Bismarck, sealing a dramatic 4–3 victory and capping a three‑goal surge that sent Jefferson on to the next round.
