Jefferson Cannoneers Vs. Niagara University
Jefferson Falls to Niagara University at home.
The Jefferson Community College hockey team was back in action on Sunday October 27th, after a long break between games. They played host to the Niagara University Purple Eagles in Pulaski, New York. Niagara opened the scoring late in the first period with a powerplay goal. Niagara then scored another powerplay goal with under one minute left in the first period. The first period ended 2-0 with Niagara leading JCC.
The second period scoring opened when JCC had a rush into the offensive zone where Kyle Gionet found Cameron Winebar for the goal. JCC had cut Niagara's lead down to one. This would not last long as just over 2 minutes later Niagara scores a short-handed goal to go up 3-1 on the Cannoneers. The score would be 3-1 to end the period.
The third period was played even with no scoring until JCC was given a powerplay with under 5 minutes left in the game where Carson Barrett scored with assists from Jack Mills and Kyle Gionet. Niagara would then score their third powerplay goal of the game with just over one minute remaining. JCC would fall to Niagara with the final score being 4-2.
