Jefferson Baseball Sweeps Thrilling Offensive Showcase vs. Tompkins Cortland

The Cannoneers take on the Tompkins Cortland Panthers in a night matchup. Game 1 started quiet for both teams going scoreless until bottom of the 2nd with the Cannoneers striking first. #1 Hunter Kirnie gets the Cannoneers on the board with a rbi double. #5 Grant Clark follows up with a rbi single to bring in another run giving the Cannoneers the 2-0 lead. Bottom of the 3rd, the Cannoneers add one more run to the board with #2 Oiram Williams hitting a rbi double to extend the lead 3-0. Top of the 4th, the Panthers tie up the game with putting up 3 runs on the board from scoring on a error, a rbi single and sac hit. Bottom of the 4th, the Cannoneers respond with #28 Yuliano Lopez knocking a rbi double to bring in another run. Yuliano Lopez would also go on to score on an error as well making the game 5-3. Bottom of the 5th, the Cannoneers #1 Hunter Kirnie strikes again with a 2 rbi double extending the lead 7-3. Bottom of the 6th, the Cannoneers extend the lead 9-3 with #11 Nick Spivey hitting a 2 run homer. Top of the 7th, the Panthers score 2 more runs with a 2 run homer. The Panther come up short giving the Cannoneers the much need victory with a final score of 9-5. Bottom of the 1st, the Cannoneers answer with #4 Ryan Murnane hitting a sac hit to bring in a run cutting the lead in half 2-1. Bottom of the 2nd, the Cannoneers gain another run with #5 Grant Clark hitting a rbi single to bring in another run to tie up the game 2-2. Top of the 3rd, the Panthers strike with a sac fly to bring in another run taking back the lead 3-2. Bottom of the 3rd, the Cannoneers offensive explodes with #7 Nathan Eccleston knocking a 2 rbi triple giving the lead 4-3 to the Cannoneers. #3 Michael Caraballo knocks an inside the park 2 run homer to extend the lead 6-3. Bottom of the 4th, #28 Yuliano Lopez steals home to score another run extending the lead 7-3. #2 Oiram Williams knocks a 2 rbi double to extend the lead further 9-3.
