Cannonneers Start Off Season with a Tough Loss

Game 1 of the Cannoneers' season at FLCC ended in heartbreak fashion. JCC dropped the game 7-6 on a walk-off in the 8th inning, after leading the game from the 3rd inning to the 7th. 8 out of the 9 JCC batters collected at least 1 hit in the game. Noah Zehr and John LaPorte both had 2 hits, with Zehr having 1 RBI and LaPorte with 2 RBI's. LaPorte, David Nikolayenko, Will Cole, and Chris Gunn all had extra base hits in the effort. Tyler Thompson and Ethan Garrand highlighted the relief effort on the mound. The righties combined for 3 2/3 IP, allowing just 1 hit apiece and 1 ER each. 

Game 2 of Tuesday's double-header got away from the Cannoneers early as FLCC jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning, followed by a big 2nd inning to put JCC away. Noah Zehr and Peter Gallagher collected the lone hits for JCC, while Zehr had the only RBI. With Gallagher's hit in game 2, all Cannoneer batters on the day had at least 1 hit.
