Simkin Commits to Russell Sage College

Sophomore pitcher/infielder William Simkin from Griffith, Australia has committed to play baseball at Russell Sage College. Simkin was asked to take on many roles during the 2021 season and did so willingly. Simkin is a reliable third baseman who also played a lot of shortstop this season due to team needs. On the mound, Simkin collected 19 strikeouts through 17 innings pitched and ended the season throwing a complete game with 7 innings pitched, 6 strikeouts, and only 2 earned runs.

Head Coach Brandon Noble had this to say about Simkin's commitment, "Will brought a ton of energy every single day and a high level of focus toward his studies, the weight room, and baseball. We're excited to see his growth in the newly-formed Sage baseball program under Coach Pontari." Simkin was a resident assistant in the residence hall this semester and earned the Outstanding Honors Student Award for the A.S. Business Administration program.
