Sophomore O'Donnell Commits to Iowa Wesleyan University
Connor O'Donnell commits to Iowa Wesleyan University to play baseball.
Sophomore right-handed pitcher Connor O'Donnell from Pulaski, NY has signed his NAIA Letter of Intent and accepted an athletic scholarship to play baseball at Iowa Wesleyan University next year. Although O'Donnell is an academic sophomore, this season was his first due to Covid, and because of the 2021 NJCAA eligibility rules he will move on to the Tigers' program with 4 years of collegiate eligibility remaining.
O'Donnell was an effective pitcher this season whose pitch movement creates a lot of weak contact and opportunities for the defense, which unfortunately hurt his numbers with a struggling Cannoneers defense and lack of run support. Head Coach Brandon Noble had this to say about O'Donnell's commitment, "Connor is very deserving of this opportunity to compete at the next level. This year he fully bought in to the weight room, greatly improved in his classes, and did everything we asked of him and more on the field. We're proud to see Connor take this next step away from home and compete with a program who has recently transitioned to the NAIA."
