The Jefferson Cannoneer Baseball Program Welcomes Back its Alumni in the 13th Annual Alumni game
Many former Cannoneer student-athletes participated in the baseball programs annual Alumni game. 2015 was the 13th consecutive year the game was played during the fall season. This year, the alumni team featured current sophomore pitchers and catchers while the current team utilized freshmen pitchers and catchers. Former Cannoneers took the field to play defense and hit with current Associate Head Coach David Navarra acting as the field manager for the alumni squad. Alumni that participated in the game were:
David Navarra: Class of 2006 Lucas Meyer: Class of 2010Andrew Boulter: Class of 2009
Sean Gerritise: Class of 2012
Craig Frederick: Class of 2012
John Parameter: Honorary Alumnist
Adam Dayton: Class of 2009
Brandon Noble: Class of 2015
Samuel Cavallario: Class of 2010
Keith Harley: Class of 2011
With this format the nine inning game ended in a 3-3 tie. For the alumni, David Navarra, Lucas Meyer, Andrew Boulter, John Parameter, and Brandon Noble each contributed a hit in their 3 run effort. Former Cannoneer pitcher Craig Frederick would pitch one inning in relief, not allowing a run. An interesting matchup from this year's game was Alumni Adam Dayton (2008-2009) facing current Cannoneer pitcher, and younger brother, Andrew Dayton. Adam would get on base for the alumni squad due to an error, however current Cannoneer Andrew got family bragging rights for the day, as Adam was picked off at first base.
The Cannoneers will continue their Alumni game next fall in late September or early October in 2016.
