5 Jefferson Baseball Players Commit to NCAA 4 Year Programs
Sophomores Nicolas Espino (Bronx, NY), Joshua Amann (Carthage, NY), Tyler Decker (Adams, NY), Nathan Mastervick (Niagara Falls, Ontario), and Louie Diaz (Chicago, IL) commit to NCAA 4 year programs
Nicolas Espino commits to NCAA Division II East Stroudsburg University
Sophomore Nicolas Espino has accepted an athletic scholarship to play at East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania. Espino lead the Cannoneers last season with a .389 batting average, 63 hits, 32 stolen bases, and 30 RBI from the leadoff spot. Currently for 2013 he is hitting .378 with 14 hits and 6 RBI through 11 games. Nicolas plans to continue his education as a Criminal Justice Major at East Stroudsburg, and will be looked at to contribute right away at second base next fall.
Joshua Amann commits to NCAA Division III St. John Fisher College
Sophomore Joshua Amann committed to Coach Brandon Potter to continue this academic and baseball career at St. John Fisher College. Last season for the Cannoneers Amann was 3-6 overall with 50.33 innings pitched, 39 strike outs, and only allowing 12 walks. Currently for 2013 Amann is 2-0 with 12 innings pitched. Joshua plans to continue his education as a Criminal Justice Major at St. John Fisher, and will be looked at to contribute right away on the mound for the Cardinals.
Tyler Decker commits to NCAA Division II Adelphi University
Sophomore first basemen Tyler Decker accepted an athletic scholarship to continue his college baseball career at Adelphi University in Garden City, NY. Decker last season for the Cannoneers hit.333 with 45 hits, 2 homeruns, and 42 RBI. Currently for 2013 Tyler is hitting .314 with 4 doubles and 9 RBI. Tyler plans to continue his education at Adelphi in their Criminal Justice program and will be looked at to play first base right away next for the Panthers. Adelphi University is coached by former New York Yankee and 1978 World Series Champion Dominic Scala.
Nathan Mastervick commits to NCAA DII Salem International University
Sophomore outfielder Nathan Mastervick accepted an athletic scholarship to continue his career at Salem International University in West Virginia. Mastervick came to Jefferson from the Etobicoke Rangers in Ontario, Canada and hit.291, with 46 hits, 5 triples, 27 stolen bases, and 29 RBI for his freshmen year. Currently Nathan is hitting ..423 with 11 hits, 3 triples, 6 RBI, and 10 walks in 11 games this season. Nathan plans to continue his college education at Salem International in their Sports Management program and will be looked at to start right away in the outfield.
Louie Diaz commits to NCAA DII Salem International University
Sophomore outfielder Louie Diaz accepted an athletic scholarship to continue his college career at Salem International University with fellow teammate Nathan Mastervick. Diaz came to Jefferson from Chicago, IL and plans to continue his college education at Salem in the Sports Management program. Currently for 2013 Louie is hitting .270 with 10 RBI.
