On Tuesday and Wednesday this past week the Jefferson Cannoneer Soccer teams and Volleyball teams honored the many women diagnosed with Breast Cancer each year by wearing PINK in their home games against Finger Lakes Community College and Tompkins-Cortland Community College. The visiting teams also participated by wearing arm bands and pink athletic tape.
At each event donations were taken at the door for Breast Cancer Research. The Women’s Soccer team also raised $85.00 in donations and the Men’s Soccer team raised $348.00 in donations bringing our total amount raised for Breast Cancer Research to $813.00!
On behalf of the JCC Relay for Life team I would like to personally thank Coach David Bowhall and the women’s soccer team, Coach Chris Pacilio and the men’s soccer team, Coach Sara Kent, and the volleyball team, for all their help in organizing and donating for such a worthy cause. I would also like to thank the student workers for all their hard work, the Athletics’ Department, the photographer’s Sam Hagen and Greg McIntyre, and last but certainly not least the parents and fans of our student athletes for all of your support!
GO CANNONEERS!
