The Jefferson Mens Lacrosse team took the field on Sunday October 11 against the Jefferson Lacrosse Alumni. It was a well played contest which saw the current Jefferson Team jump out to a 5-4 halftime lead. Anthony Donato, Nick Hazen & Matt Kerber accounted for all 5 goals, while the Alumni got their scoring from Mike Ross, Sean MaCuliffe & Pete Pike. After half the Alumni seemed to get their second wind and led 6-5 after the third quarter after a goal by Mike Ross and by Sean MaCuliffe. The 4th quarter went back and forth as current goalie Dan Grant and Alumni goalie Devin Heldt made big save after big save, but eventually Anthony Donato found the back of the net and evened the score and took the game to overtime. In overtime it didnt take long before Rob Campany found Matt Kerber on the doorstep and finished to secure the sudden death victory. The win secured Jefferson an undefeated fall pre-season. The next contest will be played on March 12 when the Cannons will travel to Rochester to take on the Monroe Tribunes in the season opener of the 2016 season.
