Matt Gorman comes to the Jefferson men's basketball program after playing professionally with Scranton/Wilkes Barre Steamers in the Premier Basketball League in 2012.  Before that, Matt played professionally in England from 2008-1010 and in Ireland from 2007-2008.  During his time in England and Ireland, Gorman won Import All-Star Awards.

Matt graduated from Watertown High School in 2002.  He led the Cyclones to a Section III Class AA Championship in 2001 and runner-up in 2002.  After leading the Cyclones Gorman was awarded a basketball scholarship to Syracuse University, where he was part of the National Championship Team in 2003.  On that team, Coach Gorman played with notable players Carmelo Anthony, Hakeem Warwick, and Gerry McNamara.  In his senior season at Syracuse, Gorman was named Team Captain of the Orange.

This will be Matt's first experience as a coach and he will bring a wealth of information to the JCC basketball program.  Coach Gorman will be primarily working with post players and will be responsible for recruiting throughout the state.  Matt currently resides in Watertown, NY.
