The Cannoneers put up a good fight against one of the top teams in Region 3 basketball action on Saturday, only to come out on the short end of the score by a 87-78 final. The Cannoneers would hang around in the first half, led by Christain Rohlehr's 12 points (in limited action) and Quincy Aubertine's 11 points, trailing by a 35-34 score at half. The second half would be close throughout and the Cannoneers could just not get over the hump and wound up losing by the 9 point margin. Leading the way for the Cannoneers were Quincy Aubertine and Christian Rohlehr with 20 points a piece, followed by Jameir Sudler with 11 and Anthony Lindor with 10 points and 8 assists. Islam Haggag would chip in with 7 points and Markees Cruz with 5, as well as Marshall Roberts-Payne with 3 and Jared Thornton would round out the scoring with 2 points. Next up is Broome on Monday evening at 7 pm.
