The Jefferson Cannoneers annual Alumni game drew a big number of former players that traveled back to Watertown to face the current Cannoneer squad. The Alumni team featured two former players for the Cannoneers that are currently playing professional baseball. Former pitchers Jacob Welch (Spencerport, NY) and Phillip Ramos (Rochester, NY) each pitched an inning for the Alumni. Welch finished his respective season with the Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers in the United Shore Baseball League while Ramos pitched for the Great Bend Boom in the Pecos League.Many alumni off the 2013 roster whom finished 2nd in the Eastern Region that season came back to show support and play. Two time All Mid-State Conference Player Nicholas Espino (Bronx, NY) attended along with teammates Nathan Mastervick (Beamsville, ONT), Jordan Parker (Williamson, NY), Corey Weller (Watertown, NY), Ariel Suriel (Bronx, NY), Calder Roggie (Lowville, NY), and James Adydan (Pulaski, NY).
For the alumni, 2011 team Most Valuable Player Ryan Gentile hit a homerun in his only at-bat.The current squad would be victorious in the effort winning 4-3 in the nine inning game. Freshmen shortstop Robert Schmück (Forrest Hills, NY) doubled in the winning run in the bottom of the 8th inning. Freshmen pitcher Adam McKenzie (Yarragon, Australia) came in to start on the mound in the 9th inning to record the win.
