Cannon Blast Alumni Weekend kicked off Thursday night with the Athletic Hall of Fame and Distinguished Alumni Celebration held at the Watertown Elks Club.  To new members were inducted to the Athletic Hall of Fame:

Mr. Joseph Jones, Class of 1972

Joseph Jones, '72, has had an extensive career in professional golf, and currently works in the position he has held for 30 year as Head Golf Professional at Delaire Country Club in Delray Beach, FL. He previously served as Assistant Golf Professional at Glen Oaks Golf Club for 9 years.  Joe has coached the 1996 and 1998 US Macabi Trans-Atlantic Cup Team is a member of the Professional Golf Association and a Callaway Golf Company advisory staff member.

Joe serves in many community services organizations, including over 100 golf tournaments supporting Swing for Sight, Jewish Foundation, I Have A Dream Foundation, and Wounded Warriors. He also has served on the board of VETS Helping Heroes.

In 1972 as a member of the golf team, Joe was the NJCAA Region III Champion shooting a two-day total of 149. Joe was a two sport athlete, he was a member of the Basketball team, and was selected as University of North Carolina at Ashville Outstanding College Athlete in 1973.

Joe and his wife, Marianne, live in Boca Raton, FL, are parents of three grown children Joey, Jennifer and Jeff, and have 4 grandchildren.

Mr. Thomas Greene

Thomas Greene owns and operates GTO Sports Promotions in Lake George, NY. He served as the Varsity Baseball coach and the Girls Varsity Basketball coach for Indian River Central School for 12 years, and as the Frontier League Baseball Chairman for 25 years.

Tom has dedicated his life to high school and collegiate sports, having served president and in other various positions. He served as a member of the Board Director for BCANY for 25 years, during which he was awarded Section III Official of the Year; IAABO Basketball Official for 46 years, serving as president, past president and assignor; and a College Basketball Official for 20 years. Tom was instrumental in bringing the Coaches vs Cancer fundraiser to the Frontier League by serving as the Director for 16 years.  In 1993, Tom and Robert Williams started the Holiday Basketball Shoot-out fundraiser for the Jefferson Basketball teams, the College is hosting this major fundraiser for the 25th year. 

While at Jefferson Community College, Tom played Basketball and Baseball from 1965-1967, and was selected to the NJCAA All-Region III baseball team in 1966. 

Tom currently lives in Lake George with his companion, Jeanette Allen, and continues to referee Basketball and working in his sporting goods business.

Two other former Jefferson Athletes were honored as well, former Lady Cannoneer and Athletic Hall of Fame Inductee Sonya Comins received the SUNY Jefferson Professional Achievement Award.  Also receiving an award was former Lady Cannoneer, Michelle Capone who received the SUNY Jefferson Jeffersonian Award.

Friday night the former Jefferson Baseball and Volleyball players came in to town to play in their alumni game. First up was Volleyball.  Former Lady Cannoneers took on the 2017 Jefferson Volleyball team.   Rachael Waite, Cassie Birth, Ashley Capone, Samanthan Freeman, Haley Riley, Olivia Heiler, and Chloe Stinebricker all came back to participate in this fun event!

Jefferson Baseball was up next despite the rain in the forecast, 35 Jefferson Cannoneers came back to play.  Jacob Welch, David Navarra, David Northrop, Lucas Meyer, John Parameter, Nate Mastervick, Adam Dayton, Andrew Dayton, Joe Fargo, Keith Harley, Luis Castillo, Tyler McDonald, John Andrews, Phillip Ramos, Kyle Simmons, Josh Cox, Billy Newcombe, Christian Jorden, Alex Sanchez, Sean Gerritse, Edward Corniel, Joel Reynoso, Jordan Parker, Ryan Gentile, Al Davis, Cam Robbins, Sammy Cavalario, Benjamin Godbout, Jarrod Bellinger, Calder Roggie, Vaughn Moser, Marcus Roggie, Jordon Fields, Danny Granger and Ben Farmer and a mix of the current Jefferson Baseball team, showed their love for the game despite the rainy conditions



Saturday brought Jefferson Men's and Women's Soccer, Men's and Women's Basketball, Softball, and Men's Lacrosse Alumi to compete in a Fun Alumni Game. For Men's soccer we had Steven Barry, Ryan Stevens, Matt Damon, Will Smith, Andrew Johnson, Dan Sharlow, Abdul Sanderson, and Kyle Gippe. Women's Soccer we had Deleha Decker, Taylor Andrews, Emily Nellis, Kate Gehrke, Jessica Dobson-Tufo, Jennifer Mercante Sparks, Eliza Gaines Urbaniak, Paige Morgia Iles, Jen Akins, Kari Gehrke, Gabrielle Navarra, Kady Boynton Hoistion, Amber Dibble, Olivia Barker, and Emily Bush.  



On the court brought back a combine total of 29 Men and Women's Basketball players.  For the women we had former Lady Cannoneers Riley Luckie, Julie Park Burgess, Meredith Cook Bossinger, Nicole Perry Moore, Courtney Roberts Tryon, Carrie Mason, Jen Williams, Crystal Wheeler, Alicia Uhlein, Cheryl Parker Morrow and Joelle Percy.  For the men we had former Cannoneers Rashawn Thomas, Sean Gorman, Jeff Robbins, Kevin Johnson, Damian Jackson, Ryan Tomlin, Albert Ebouki, Kadeem Nichols, Dennis Oglesby, Chris Noel, Allan Forbes, Michael Busby, Justin Sullivan, TJ Jones, Anthony Lindor, Mo Cruz, Orville Crooks, and Christian Rohler.  Both teams played even vs odd years.



Back on the Field we had former Jefferson Softball and Men's Lacrosse come out to play.  For Softball we had Chelsea Monroe, Erica Hovey, Taneisha Richey, Natalie Wicks, Danielle LaFlesh, Karen Hyde, Alicia Countryman, Korine Clark, Tara Black, Jen Adkins, Jen Jones, and Brooke Lalone.  For Men's Lacrosse we had Dan Grant, Mike Ross, Pete Pike, Anthony Donato, Brandon Dibble, Tim O'Donnell, Geoff Eliopolus, Matt Ferris, James Brossoit, Casey Dickinson, Joe Marshall, Vinnie Cesario, and Joe Martusewicz.





Sunday the Cannon Blast weekend wrapped up with a two mile fun run sponsored and organized by our own 2017 Jefferson Cross Country Team.  Men's Soccer Player Ed Goodall won 1st place with a time of 12:06 for the men and Mandie Godin came in first place with time of 20:26 for the women.
