2012 Jefferson Volleyball Team Named Jefferson Athlete of the Week

Watertown, NY--The Jefferson Community College (JCC) Volleyball team was named JCC athlete of the week for the week ending October 28, 2012.  JCC's athlete of the week program is sponsored by Victory Promotions. The Lady Cannoneers season finally came to an end on Sunday, October 28, 2012 in the final day of regional play.  It was a sad end to an amazing season.  Some of the highlights from the season include:  Going undefeated for three weeks of the season, being on a 12 game winning streak at the end of September, going undefeated in conference play and winning the MSAC Championship at home.  Several players also earned individual awards:  Lahni Duffer - All-Tournament Team at Cara Bryant Invitational at Onondaga Community College, MSAC All-Conference Team, 2nd team All-Regional Team, Regional All-Tournament Team, JCC Athlete of the Week.  Ashley Capone - MSAC All-Conference Team, JCC Athlete of the Week.  Francesca Barajas - JCC Athlete of the Week.  Katie Peters - MSAC All-Tournament MVP, JCC Athlete of the Week.  Kierstin Burke - Regional All-Tournament Team.  Congratulations to the team for making it to the top 4 of regionals!  This team kept proving themselves over and over, and never gave up on what they believed they could accomplish.  These 12 athletes proved that Jefferson will now be a force in this region. 

I am so proud of these girls, this season was so special to me, we will always be a family.
