Platt and Goodall Named Jefferson Co-Athletes of the Week

Christina Platt and Edward Goodall

Freshman runner, Christina N. Platt of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) women’s cross country team, and sophomore midfielder Edward J. Goodall, of the Jefferson men’s soccer team, were named JCC co-athletes of the week for the week ending September 17, 2017.  JCC's athlete of the week program is sponsored by Under Armour and Victory Promotions.

Christina, a 2016 graduate of South Lewis High School, is majoring in Physical Education at Jefferson.  Platt’s accomplishments on the trail this past week include leading the way for junior college runners at the Oswego State Invitational cross country meet with a 12th place finish among 12 teams and 110 runners.  Christina finished in the thick of the front pack of strong NCAA Div II and III runners and outdistanced the next NJCAA runner by 45 sec for the 5 kilometer race.  Platt’s time of 20:45.6 is the second fastest 5 kilometer time in Jefferson’s short program history.  This was her first cross country race in almost 2 years. Her work ethic and dedication at practices should pay off with big results this year as she progresses throughout the season.

Edward, a 2016 graduate of The Scots College, Australia, is majoring in Physical Education at Jefferson.  Goodall’s accomplishment on the pitch this past week included being a consistent player for the Cannoneer Soccer program this season and last.  Edward scored a goal by splitting two defenders against Fulton Montgomery Community College. He is willing to sacrifice for the good of the team and always gives 100 percent on the field of play.  Edward is the type of player and person you want representing SUNY Jefferson and our athletic program, a great person and a great work ethic.
