Freshman defender, Caleb M. Mueller of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) men’s soccer team, and sophomore forward Zoe E. Stuckey, of the Jefferson women’s soccer team, were named JCC co-athletes of the week for the week ending October 15, 2017. JCC's athlete of the week program is sponsored by Under Armour and Victory Promotions.
Caleb, a 2017 graduate of Claus-Von-Stauffenberg Schule, Germany, is majoring in Business Administration at Jefferson. Mueller’s accomplishments on the pitch this past week include being a constant for the Cannoneers this soccer season. He has been a very determined student of the game of soccer. Since his arrival in August, you could not ask for a better teammate and dedicated athlete. This past weekend, Jefferson gained their first victory of the season over Niagara Community College, by the score of 4-1. Jefferson has also been playing a better brand of soccer in the second half of the season, due in part to the play of Caleb’s defense. He has been an integral part of allowing the Cannoneers to stay close in many games and gives us a chance to win this season.
Zoe, a 2016 graduate of Belleville Henderson Central School, is majoring in Physical Education at Jefferson. Stuckey’s accomplishment on the pitch this past week included scoring 3 goals over the weekend trip to Western NY. Zoe led a second half comeback with 2 goals against Niagara Community College in which Jefferson won 5-4 and scored the lone goal against Jamestown Community College. She has really “upped” her game this season. She is a team captain and plays 90 minutes of every game.
