Luckie and Lindor Named Jefferson Co-Athletes of the Week

Sophomore Guard, Riley E. Luckie of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) women’s basketball team, and sophomore guard Anthony Lindor, of the Jefferson men’s basketball team, were named JCC co-athletes of the week for the week ending February 12, 2017.  JCC's athlete of the week program is sponsored by Under Armour and Victory Promotions.

Riley, a 2015 graduate of Ogdensburg Free Academy, is majoring in Physical Education at Jefferson.  Luckie’s accomplishments on the court this past week include helping to lead the Lady Cannoneers to a 3-0 week with wins over SUNY Broome, Cayuga Community College, and Onondaga Community College.  She averaged 12.6 ppg, 2.7 apg while shooting 91% from the free throw line.  Riley was also named Mid State Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

Anthony, a 2014 graduate of Brooklyn Studio, Brooklyn, NY is majoring in Criminal Justice at Jefferson.  Lindor’s accomplishments on the court include being a steady leader for Jefferson this year.  He has been consistent in his scoring and rebounding throughout the season.  Currently Anthony ranks #4 in assists in the conference, #5 in steals, and is shooting 38% from the 3 point line to rank #10 in the conference in this category.  He has been forced into the point guard role this season and has done an admirable job. This past weekend against nationally ranked Onondaga Community College, Anthony had one of his best overall games with 23 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists.  His continued improvement throughout the season has garnered Lindor attention from the next level programs.  “Anthony has been a pleasure to coach and has continued to improve his overall game throughout the year!” Coach Vaadi
